Setting up Ikakura on a seperate server

Ikakura can be set up to run on a separate Windows 2000 Server, (other than the Exchange Server), but it is more difficult than installing it onto the Exchange 2000 Server

To run Ikakura on a separate server:

1. install the Microsoft Exchange Server Management Tools.
2. it may also be necessary to install Windows 2000 SP3.
3. Check that the required CDO component DLLs are installed...
4. You need CDO.DLL, CDOEX.DLL as well as CDOEXM.DLL installed on your server. My understanding was that these should have been installed with the Management Tools for Exchange 2000 Server, but CDOEX.DLL is often missing. In each case the CDO*.* libraries should probably be version 6.0.X.
5. Install Ikakura as described in the manual. Make sure you clear the "Exchange Server is installed on this computer" check box on the Ikakura Service Manager when you Install the service.
6. Add the "Server Name" value to the HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ReddFish ListServer\Parameters registry key.
